The Original Sterling Silver Viking Ship Salt Cellar and Spoon Designed By Theodor Olsens, Bergen Norway, 1893-1937.
The current standard in Norway for Silver requires a silver standard and a maker's mark. The old Norwegian standard of .830 Silver purity was used until around 1920, when the .925 purity, began replacing it and is now the foremost standard in use. Town names are sometimes included with the required marks, and the letters "NM"(Nørsk Monster) are sometimes seen on flatware; they indicate patent or copyright. Theodor Olsen worked in Bergen from 1893 to 1937.
