The International Plate Printers, Die Stampers and Engravers Union of North America (IPPDS&E of NA) is a North American labour union. It has an interesting history that dates back to its founding in 1893 in Boston as the National Steel and Copper Plate Printers’ Union of the United States. The American Federation of Labor chartered the union on July 2, 1898. In 1901, it changed its name to the International Steel and Copper Plate Printers of North America, expanding its membership to include members in Canada. Later, in 1921, it became the International Plate Printers and Die Stampers’ Union of North America. Throughout its history, the union has undergone several mergers and transformations.
