There are different uses of Cutting Knives, One Example is shown above, a drawknife is a traditional woodworking hand tool used to shape wood by removing shavings. It consists of a blade with a handle at each end. The blade is much longer than it is deep. It is pulled or "drawn" toward the user.

Knives were originally made of flint, rock, bone, and obsidian. As of 2016, more modern knives are made from materials such as ceramic, iron, steel, titanium, bronze and copper, and they usually have either a folding or fixed-blade construction. Fixed-blade knives fit inside a sheath, are stronger and do not have moving parts.
